- Hi I’ve only just started my Open water course with Padi, will this software be of any help to me at my stage ? and how easy is it to put in my Padi dive tables?
- Just wanted to ask, if I want to plan more than one or two dives in a single day will the software handle this. It’s just when on holiday I often do 3-4 dives in a single day to get the most out of my time away.
- Hi I’ve looked at your site and noticed the re-seller section. I may be interested in this, how do I find out more info regarding how it would work if I became a re-seller?
- This looks great, I’ve been hoping someone would create something like this when can I buy it?
- I dive with both Padi and BSAC dive tables can I use both sets of tables , or will I have to keep importing and exporting them?
- How do I know if my computer is capable of running the software?
- If I buy a copy of the software for my home computer, then decide I also want it on my laptop do I have to buy another copy/license ?

- When I dive, I tend to use deep stops such as half max depth plus a standard stop instead of just a ‘traditional’ 5m stop. Will your software allow me to log this ?

eDiveSoftware will be especially helpful within your PADI diver training. Aside from the benefits already meantioned on our site, eDiveSoftware dive planning is the first to incorporate complex dive planning procedures. This also incorporates a number of hints and warnings based on dive table data that you import. Dive tables can be uploaded via the 'Dive Table Editor' - an simple process of merely typing in each of the values from your tables and then using the import function to bring these into the system. These can then be incorporated within your dive plans and thus a great way to help you understand the dive planning process. |

eDiveSoftware planning and logging allows you to plan as many repetative dives in any given period. Dependant on how long it is before your body returns to a 'zero nitrogen limit' (known as Residual Nitrogen washout time), you can continue planning any number of dives whereby eDiveSoftware will display each dives 'dive pressure group' for starting a dive and after a dive. You are further allowed to plan dives out of sequence whereby the system will take care of this for you. |

| |
|
| |
If you wish to become a reseller, you merely need to sign-up on the site via the 'reseller agreement' page. Once we receive your request, we will process, add you to the drop-down menu system for those who purchase to select you as a reseller and then notify you via the email address supplied. All resellers get a standard percentage of all sales whereby your reseller name was selected on the activation form. Resellers that perform better than expected will be reviewed by the eDiveSoftware Team and better rates may be applied. |

The first production version will be available from Mid-October 2008. Keep track via the 'shop' page. |

| |
|
| |
The system will allow you to import as many dive tables as you wish. The 'dive table editor' allows the creation of sets of tables. If you wish to create different tables, we suggest that you take a back-up of the 'diver table editor' (renamed as appropiate) and input new dive table data into another copy. Thus you have the flexibility to have a 'dive table editor' for each set of dive tables. Within eDiveSoftware, you may have as many dive tables as you feel. |

How do I know if my computer is capable of running the software? |

Check the 'requirements' page as this outlines the minimum computer requirements. |

If I buy a copy of the software for my home computer, then decide I also want it on my laptop do I have to buy another copy/license ? |
| |
|
| |
Purchasing a copy of eDiveSoftware and its licnse allows for a copy on a home PC OR a copy on a laptop. However, we feel that all our clients should not have to pay a complete license fee yet again and thus are currently discounting further purchases to £19.99 for the SAME USER on a seperate computer or laptop. In order for you will require a further activation code from eDiveSoftware via the 'activation' page. You will have to resend ALL your previous activation information for validation and support will only be available by the registered user and/or email account. Contact us for further details. |

? |
| |
|
| |
eDiveSoftware currently allows for a single safety stop at 5m. However, this is merely a time field so could be used to allow you to log total safety stop time. There is also a free text area to note this. The application builds the safety stop duration into the time out including the ascent/descent time. In addition, we have made some allowances for incorporating deep stops and are looking to release this in a future version. Then intention is to allow the user to define the stops and depths. We’re looking for feedback from users before we commit to this change. As with our basic philosophy, this will be released free of charge to existing users (as this is covered under the year’s licence). |

Can I use this for Enriched Air Diving ? |
| |
|
| |
Initially, eDiveSoftware is offered as a ‘standard air’ version. An enriched air version is under development at present and you will be able to see some allowances are greyed out in advance of this to allow you to see how we intend to incorporate this. When released, you will be able to select the breathing mix % (oxygen and nitrogen) and then select this within the plan. As enriched air qualified divers ourselves, we want this to be available and are focusing on this for a major (free) upgrade in the coming months. In the meantime, you can calculate using equivalent air depths (or reflect this using your own tables), but must manually keep track of Oxygen Toxicity, Partial Pressure and CNS (Central Nervous System) toxicity yourselves. Trimix is not something being looked at as yet, although we will add this at some point much further down the line. |

What tables does eDive come with ? |
| |
|
| |
eDive does NOT ship any data from any dive organisation directly. We took this decision due to not wanting to infringe copyright of any organisation and not wishing to annoy them by assuming we could distribute their data without consent. We are aiming to discuss this with the major organisations in due course.
We ship a set of Dummy Data (and give you various warnings such as a bright red screen) that should NOT be used to dive with. The Dummy Data is there purely to demonstrate the look and feel of how major dive organisation data would appear. eDiveSoftware ships with a simple Excel spreadsheet that produces files for import (and an import/export screen). This way, you can add whichever set of data is appropriate to your training organisation. You can have multiple sets of data if you dive using different tables, although please be aware that these are usually NOT interchangeable. The application will warn you if you change tables within 24 hours.
The main thing to be aware of is that the end user (you) are responsible for the data you use. eDiveSoftware is built around common parameters, but cannot make allowances for any variation of data. If you feel that your organisation’s format is not covered, please feel free to email us at info@edivesoftware.com and we will have a look to see if we can incorporate any changes. |

Your costs are per year. Is this correct ? What are the support costs ? |
| |
|
| |
Yes this is correct. A 12 month licence is £44.99. This keeps down the overall costs and allows us to continue to develop this application. After that period, you will need to renew your licence. You will not need to re-install the application, nor lose any data, but simply need to re-activate your licence. We will remind you in plenty of time. Initial users will also be given an additional 3 months as a thank you. Email support is included (within our discretion per case). If the support need goes beyond reasonable, we will inform you in advance of any additional charges that need paying. The application includes a method of catching and reporting errors/bugs, so if one happens, you will be able to follow the easy screens and we will get a technical bug report. |

How do I back up my log ? |
| |
|
| |
Simply keep a backup of c:\program files\eDive\ as everything we install goes into this folder. We are looking to allow a facility for you to upload your log to us for safe keeping. Watch this space. |
